The M65 is closed tonight (Tuesday) in both directions due to a police incident. Lancashire Police said shortly after 7pm that there is a concern for welfare.
The closure is in place between junction nine and junction 11. The road is to be closed for some time, according to officers.
Lancashire Police said: "We want to update you and let you know that the M65 is currently closed in both directions from junction 9-11 due to a concern for welfare. We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time.
"We will update once this has reopened."
